What this site collects
Nothing that identifies you. The Lifetime List is a set of static pages. There is no account, no login, no newsletter form, no comment box and no contact form. We run no analytics and no advertising scripts, and we set no cookies of our own.
What other companies do when you use this site
Two things on these pages are served by other companies, and they follow their own rules, not ours.
- The video player. Episode pages embed YouTube through
youtube-nocookie.com, which is the version that does not store data for personalised advertising before you press play. If you do press play, YouTube receives the request and applies Google's privacy policy. If you never press play, the player loads nothing from Google. - The shop links. Links marked as affiliate links go to Amazon. When you follow one, Amazon sets a cookie so it can tell that the visit came from us. That cookie is Amazon's, governed by Amazon's privacy notice, and we never see who you are or what you bought — only a monthly total of qualifying purchases.
Hosting and server logs
The site is served by GitHub Pages. Like any web server, it records requests, which include IP addresses, for security and abuse prevention. We do not have access to those logs and we do not use them. See GitHub's privacy statement.
Children
This site is written for adults buying household goods and tools. It is not directed at children and we do not knowingly collect anything from anyone.
Your rights
Because we hold no personal data about you, there is nothing for us to show you, correct or delete. Requests about data held by YouTube, Amazon or GitHub go to those companies directly.
Changes
If this ever stops being true — if we add a newsletter, comments or analytics — this page changes first, and it says so here before the feature goes live.
